Overview

Exporting to Excel gives you a portable copy of your CX data for analysis, auditing, or reporting outside the platform. You filter a list — plans, projects, companies, or people — pick your columns, and CX generates a spreadsheet. Saved report setups can be reused, so repeat exports take seconds.

When to use this

  • Auditing plan statuses or service levels across your book of business.

  • Preparing year-end compliance reports that need task completion dates and project owners.

  • Verifying custom field data across multiple plan years.

  • Filtering projects by plan-level criteria — for example, work tied to active plans only.

How to export data to Excel

  1. Navigate to the record type you want to export from the main navigation menu: a. To Do for projects, tasks, or plan year data. b. Plans for plan-level information. c. Companies for client data. d. People for contact and participant data.

  2. Click the more menu in the top right corner of the record list.

  3. Select Generate Report from the dropdown menu.

4. Enter a unique, descriptive name for the report. This helps you and your team find it later.

5. Apply filters to narrow your results — by status, tags, assigned users, or other criteria.

6. Use the Pre-Filters section if you need to filter by a different record type.

Note: Pre-filters work like a data join. For example, add a Plans pre-filter to limit a report of projects to only those tied to active plans. 7. Select the columns to include in your Excel file: a. Choose from the primary data fields at the top of the list. b. Scroll to the Data section at the bottom to include any custom data fields your firm has created.

8. Click Save and Generate. The report downloads to your computer as an Excel file.

You're all set! Your report is saved, so you can run it again anytime without rebuilding it.

Note: Once generated, the report configuration is visible and downloadable to other users in your firm who have access to that record type.

Updating a saved report

  1. Open the report from your saved list.

  2. Update the filters, columns, or name.

  3. Choose how to save: a. Select Duplicate to save your changes as a brand new report. b. Select Overwrite to update the existing report with your changes.

Tips

Tip: Name reports for what they answer, like "Active Plans — Year-End Audit." Your whole team can see saved reports, so clear names prevent duplicates.

Tip: For recurring exports, set up the report once with filters and pre-filters, then just re-generate it each cycle.
