What is reporting in CX?
Reporting in Stax.ai CX lets you build your own views of your data without asking anyone for help. You pick a dataset, such as Plans or Tasks, then drag the fields you care about onto the report. CX runs the query and shows you the results right away.
There are two pieces that work together:
Reports are saved tables. Each report remembers its dataset, its columns, its summaries, and its filters. Open it any time and it runs again against current data.
Dashboards are pages that display several reports side by side. Use a dashboard when you want one screen that answers several questions at once.
Reports and dashboards are shared with your whole team. Anyone on your team with reporting access can open what you build.
Key capabilities
Build without a spreadsheet. Group plans by record-keeper, count tasks by assignee, or total contributions by client, all on screen.
Pull in related data. A report on Plans can include fields from the company that owns the plan. A report on Tasks can include fields from the project it belongs to.
Do your own math. Computed columns let you write a formula, such as the number of days a task has been open, using the fields already in the dataset.
Export to Excel. Any saved report can be exported to an Excel file for analysis, auditing, or sending to a client.
Stay current. Reports read from a reporting copy of your CX data that refreshes on a schedule. You are never looking at a stale snapshot you took last month.
Where to find it
Everything lives in the left sidebar under Home:
Daily Briefing is your personal start-of-day view of tasks and priorities.
Dashboards lists every dashboard your team has built.
Reports lists every saved report your team has built.
Note: If you do not see Dashboards and Reports in the sidebar, reporting is not enabled for your team yet. Contact your account manager.
What you can report on
When you create a report you choose one dataset to start from. These are the datasets available today:
Clients and contacts: Companies, Contacts, Deals, Funnels, Record-Keepers
Plans: Plan, Plan Years, Plan Admin Status, Plan Provisions (Latest Version), Plan Provisions (All Versions)
Participants: Employees, Employee Census, Distributions, Investment Accounts
Work: Projects, Project Templates, Tasks
Team: User Accounts, User Queue Groups
Your custom data fields appear alongside the standard fields in each dataset, so you can filter and group on the fields your firm defined.
What you see is what you can see
Reports respect the same permissions as the rest of CX. If your account only sees the clients assigned to you, your reports only return those clients. Sensitive participant fields such as full Social Security numbers and dates of birth are not available in reporting for most roles.
Reports and dashboards belong to your team, not to an individual. Another team cannot open your reports.
How current is the data?
Reporting data refreshes on a schedule rather than the instant you change a record. A change you make in CX usually appears in reports within a few minutes. If you just edited a plan and do not see it in a report yet, wait a few minutes and refresh.
What happened to the old reports?
Reporting used to live behind the Generate Report button on the Companies, Plans, Projects, and Tasks list pages. That flow has been replaced. When you click Generate Report on those pages now, CX points you to the new Reports and Dashboards sections.
Every report you had saved was moved over for you. Open Reports in the sidebar and you will find them there.
