Overview

Stax.ai CX gives you two main ways to report on your data. Dashboards show live, visual widgets on screen. Custom reports turn your filtered lists — companies, plans, projects, and tasks — into downloadable files. This article explains how filters, saved views, and report generation work together, so you can pull exactly the data you need.

How filters and reports work together

Filters control which records show in a list. Reports are built from those lists. The flow is the same everywhere in CX:

  1. Open a list page (Companies, Plans, or your projects and tasks in To Do).

  2. Filter the list down to the records you care about.

  3. Generate a report from the filtered list.

Saved filters can also be reused as pre-filters when you build reports in other sections — for example, using a saved company filter to narrow a plan report.

How to create a report for Companies

  1. Go to the Companies section.

  2. Click Add Filter and set the criteria you need. The list updates to show only matching companies.

  3. Click More, then select Generate Report.

  4. Choose to create a new report or pick one of your existing report templates.

  5. Select the columns to include. Company reports include URL and name columns by default.

  6. Click Create Report. Your report downloads to your computer.

Creating reports for Plans

Reports for plans work the same way from the Plans section:

  1. Go to Plans and apply filters as needed.

  2. Click More > Generate Report.

  3. In the Pre-Filters section, apply a saved company filter if you want to limit the report to certain clients.

  4. Set your columns and generate the report. Plan reports include Plan URL, Code, and Name by default.

Creating reports for Projects and Tasks

  1. Go to your projects or tasks list in To Do and apply filters.

  2. Click More > Generate Report.

  3. Use a saved client filter as a pre-filter to narrow the results.

  4. Review the columns, then generate the report.

Tip: If you're not setting any project filters, the client pre-filter does the heavy lifting. Make sure it's pointing at the right clients before you generate.

Report setups can be saved as templates, so repeat reports take seconds instead of starting from scratch. For a full walkthrough of naming, columns, custom fields, and sharing, see Exporting Data to Excel.

Exporting activity logs

You can also export the activity history for a record. Activity Log exports are supported for participant census records, plans, companies, deals, projects, and tasks.

  1. Navigate to the area you want to export activity for.

  2. Select More > Export Activity.

  3. Enter the date range you want to export.

  4. Select export. The activity log downloads.

Best practices

Tip: Save the filters you use often. Saved filters keep your lists consistent and double as pre-filters when you build reports in other sections.

Note: Dashboards and reports answer different questions. Use dashboards for live monitoring on screen, and reports when you need a file to analyze, print, or send. See Dashboards Overview.
