Goal
You've launched compliance projects across dozens or hundreds of plans. Now you need to know: what's done, what's stuck, and what's about to blow a deadline? This guide shows you how to monitor completion three ways — filtered task views for daily work, the Plan Admin page for the big picture, and a dashboard for always-on visibility — plus how to fix bottlenecks in bulk.
Prerequisites
Compliance projects are launched with tasks that have owners and due dates — see Creating a Compliance Project.
For dashboards, you need write access to create one (an admin grants this in Settings > Users & Groups). Read access is enough to view shared dashboards.
Step 1: Filter your task views
For day-to-day tracking, work from a filtered task list:
Click To Do in the left-hand menu, then select Tasks.
Use filters to narrow the list — by status (such as Overdue or In Progress), assignee, or due date range.
Select any task to see its details, company, and status in the center of the page.
The same approach works at the project level: open the Projects view under To Do, click Status, and add filters for client or due dates. See Tasks Overview and Projects Overview.
Tip: During compliance season, save a filter like "compliance tasks due this month" so your working view is one click away.
Step 2: Check the Plan Admin page for the big picture
The Plan Admin page shows every plan and where it stands in the annual administration cycle:
Click Plan Admin in the left sidebar.
Use the summary bar at the top, which groups plans by Admin Status for the year you select — from Not Started through 5500 Filed.
Scan for stalled plans and bottlenecks, then open the related projects to act.
As project work completes, each plan's Admin Status updates automatically. See Plans Overview.
Step 3: Build a compliance tracking dashboard
For a live view your whole team can share:
Go to the Dashboard section, click the ▼ chevron next to the dashboard name, and select New Dashboard.
Add widgets that answer your season's questions — task counts by status, overdue tasks by assignee, projects by client, or milestone dates like "census received."
Arrange the layout. Changes save automatically.
See Creating and Customizing Dashboards for the walkthrough. Widgets can use any data in CX, including your custom project data fields.
Step 4: Fix bottlenecks in bulk
When tracking reveals a pile-up — a departed employee's tasks, or a batch of dates that need to move:
Filter the task list down to exactly the tasks you want to change.
Click More in the top right corner and select Bulk Actions.
Select the tasks, choose Bulk Edit, set the new assignee or due date, and click Execute.
See Bulk Actions on Tasks — and remember: filter first, select second.
Step 5: Report on completion
Need a file for a manager or a client? Filter your projects or tasks list, then click More > Generate Report to download the filtered list. See Understanding Filters, Views, and Reporting.
Expected outcome
You can answer "where are we?" at any level: a filtered list for today's work, Plan Admin for the season across your whole book, and a dashboard for live team visibility. Stalled work surfaces early — while there's still time to fix it.

Tips
Track by exception. Filter for Overdue and Not Started — the healthy plans don't need your attention.
Sort out ownership before season starts. Every task needs an owner and a due date, or it won't send reminders and won't show up cleanly in tracking.
Use milestone fields for timeline reporting. Fields like "census received date" let you compare plan progress across your whole book.
Review the dashboard in your team huddle. A shared view beats a status meeting.
