Bulk Actions on Tasks

Bulk actions let you update many tasks at once instead of editing them one by one. Reassign fifty tasks to a new team member, push a batch update, and complete work in bulk.

Overview

Bulk actions let you update many tasks at once instead of editing them one by one. Reassign fifty tasks to a new team member, push a batch of due dates, or change priorities across a whole workflow — all in a few clicks. The same tool also works on projects, companies, and plans.

Set up your view first

  1. Go to the Tasks section (or wherever you want to make bulk changes).

  2. Set your filters so the list shows only the items you want to modify.

Tip: Filters are your safety net. A well-filtered list means you only select the tasks you actually want to change.

Select the tasks

  1. Click More in the top right corner and select Bulk Actions.

  2. Use the checkboxes to select the tasks you want to change.

Tip: Hold Shift and click to select every task between your first and last click.

Apply a bulk edit

  1. Click Bulk Actions again in the top right corner and choose Bulk Edit.

  2. Select the attributes to change, such as assignee, due date, or priority.

  3. Set the new values.

  4. Click Execute to apply the changes.

The changes apply to every selected task.

Verify your changes

  1. Check your data view to confirm the updates look right.

  2. Open the activity log if you need a record of what changed. Every bulk change is logged for transparency.

Important: Bulk actions are powerful. A wrong selection or value can affect many records at once, so double-check before you click Execute.

Beyond tasks: projects, plans, and companies

The same steps work in other sections. For resources with tags, custom data fields, or internal assignees — like plans — Bulk Edit also lets you set those values by key or role. For example, you can filter the Plans section, select plans with the checkboxes, and bulk-update tags or internal contacts the same way.

Best practices

  • Filter first, select second. Never bulk-edit an unfiltered list.

  • Start with a small batch to confirm the result, then run the rest.

  • Use the activity log to confirm and audit changes after big updates.
