Advanced Settings is where admins control team-wide behavior in Stax.ai CX: how your team logs in, how client folders are created, how client reminder emails work, and API keys for custom connections. Most teams set these once and only revisit them when policies change.

When to use

  • You're setting up CX for your firm and want login security, folders, and reminders configured before inviting the team.

  • Your security policy changed (for example, MFA is now required).

  • You want to standardize client folder structures or tune reminder cadence.

  • Your developers need API access.

Open Advanced Settings

  1. Click your profile icon in the bottom-left corner and select Settings.

  2. Click the Advanced tab. The Advanced Settings page opens.

Options explained

Login Options

Choose how your team signs in:

  • Password — standard email and password.

  • Password + MFA — password plus a verification code. Recommended for most firms.

  • Password-less — sign in with a verification link or code instead of a password.

Client Folders

Automatically create a file directory each time a new client is added (or when prompted from the Clients section):

  1. Select the root folder that will hold all client folders.

  2. Optionally, select a template folder. CX copies it and renames it for each new client, so every client starts with the same folder structure.

Client Task Follow Up

Automatically send reminder emails to clients with outstanding tasks. You control:

  • How many days pass between reminders before the due date.

  • How many days pass between reminders after the due date — and when reminders stop.

Client Invite Follow Up

Send automatic reminders to clients who were invited to your Client Portal but haven't activated their account yet.

Reminder Controls Have Moved to Reminders and Follow Ups

API Keys

Create and manage API keys for CX's APIs and webhooks. Use these when your firm builds custom connections to CX.

Important: Treat API keys like passwords. Share them only with the people or systems that need them.

Troubleshooting

  • Client folders aren't being created. Confirm a root folder is selected, and check that the template folder (if used) still exists.

  • Clients say they're getting too many reminders. Lower the follow-up frequency or shorten the after-due-date window.

  • You don't see the Advanced tab. Advanced Settings is admin-only. Ask a team admin for help.
